What Happens After You Book With Me (That You Don’t See on Social Media)

Booking the trip is the fun part. The screenshots. The countdowns. The “I can’t wait” messages.
But once you say yes, that’s when my work really begins.
And honestly, that part rarely makes it onto Instagram.
First Things First: No Surprises
Before anything is finalized, I double-check the price.
If it’s higher than what I originally quoted, I don’t just book and hope you don’t notice. I reach out and ask if you’re still comfortable moving forward. No awkward moments later. No trust broken.
Once your trip is booked, I go through the entire reservation again to make sure everything matches what we discussed:
Flight times
Room category
Dates
Pricing
It sounds basic, but you’d be surprised how often details don’t line up. I make sure they do.
The Quiet Work Happening Behind the Scenes

This is the part you don’t see, because when it’s done properly, you shouldn’t have to think about it.
After booking, I:
Do complimentary family seat selection when the airline allows it, so families can sit together and get the best available seats at the time of booking
Let you know right away if there are major schedule changes to your flights
Send room requests to the resort ahead of arrival
Add a personal note to the resort so they know valued clients are coming to stay
Arrange birthday treats or acknowledgements when possible if you’re celebrating while away
None of this is flashy. All of it matters.

The Part Most People Don’t Expect: Guidance, Not Guesswork
Once your trip is booked, I don’t disappear.
I send clear next steps so you know what to expect between now and departure, and what actually needs your attention. No guessing. No wondering if you missed something important.
This includes things like:
What to expect in the months leading up to your trip
Passport and entry requirement reminders, and where to verify them
Baggage information, seat selection guidance, and airline app tips
Transfer options, including when private transfers might make more sense
A clear timeline of when you’ll hear from me and what’s coming next
You always know where things stand.
Flight Changes: The Thing No One Likes to Talk About
Flights change. A lot.
Most people assume once tickets are issued, that’s the end of it. It’s not. I keep an eye on flight schedules, and when something shifts, I step in early. I explain what changed, what didn’t, and what it actually means for your trip.
Sometimes the fix is simple. Sometimes it’s just reassurance. Either way, you’re not left staring at an airline email wondering if you should panic.
No worries. This is why I’m here.
A Few Things I Don’t Leave to Chance
There are certain things I refuse to just “hope for the best” on:
Seating for families
Resort requests and special occasions
Making sure you understand what’s included, what’s not, and what to expect
A lot of travel stress comes from assumptions. I’ve seen how that plays out, and I’d much rather prevent issues than fix them later.
Travel Insurance, Without the Pressure
I also talk through travel insurance options if you’d like them.
Not scare tactics. Not pressure. Just coverage that makes you feel comfortable with your plans.
Flights change. Life happens. Insurance is one of those things you hope you never need, but you’re very glad to have if you do.
If you’d like a deeper look at how travel insurance works and when it makes sense, I’ve written a full post about it here: https://www.toesinthesandtravel.ca/post/peace-of-mind-on-the-fly-why-travel-insurance-is-a-must.
The Real Value Isn’t Just Planning. It’s Peace of Mind.
Most clients come to me feeling overwhelmed and confused. Too many resorts. Too many opinions. Too many tabs open.
After booking, what I want you to feel is:
Excited
Calm
Taken care of
You shouldn’t be second-guessing every detail or wondering if you forgot something important. That’s my job.
The Part Social Media Doesn’t Show
Facebook and Instagram show the beaches, the cocktails, and the sunsets. They don’t show the monitoring, the double-checking, the emails, or the quiet problem-solving that keeps your trip running smoothly. But that’s the part that lets you actually enjoy it. And if, while reading this, you thought, I don’t want to handle this myself, that makes sense. I’ve got you.
Thinking about planning a trip and already feeling overwhelmed?
If you want help narrowing down options, understanding what actually matters, and knowing someone’s keeping an eye on the details after you book, I’d love to help.
You can reach out by email or call me. We’ll take it one step at a time and make it easy.
